Wendy Alice Klein-Faller, 65, of Pownal, VT, passed away on May 5, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
Born on December 13, 1960 in Massapequa Park, NY to Milton and Hannah Klein, she was raised in Lincroft, NJ and later lived in New York City, before settling in Pownal, VT 34 years ago.
Wendy is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Faller. Wendy and Bruce enjoyed telling the story of how they met on the gondola at Stratton Mountain, and “it’s been downhill ever since!” Wendy is also survived by their son, Benjamin Faller and daughter, Marisa Faller; her sisters, Beth Klein and Karen Klein and their husbands, Pat Liquori and Jack Pinto; and each of their children who adored her. Wendy had many cousins and so many friends and co-workers with whom she shared cherished memories.
Wendy lived a life filled with love, family, and enduring friendships. She was known for her warm, open presence, sense of adventure, and strong ties to her community. Her devotion to Congregation Beth El in Bennington, Vermont, where she served as president for many years, was matched only by her dedication to her family, her students, and her friendships that spanned as many as seven decades.
Wendy was a life-long educator, first at Southern Vermont College and later at Southwest Tech/Career Development Center, in Bennington, VT. Prior to moving to Vermont, Wendy worked at Chemical Bank and Merck Pharmaceutical. She graduated from Rutgers University, NJ and obtained her master’s degree at New York University.
Words cannot capture the warm, funny, loving spirit of Wendy but the number of people who deeply loved her speaks to a life so well lived.
