Violet Putnam

Violet Putnam, 87, a resident of Kansas Road in Sunderland, passed away May 11, 2026 at Mission Cares in Bennington. Violet was born in Dorset, VT on August 20, 1938 the daughter of the late William Reed, Sr. and Geneva Felion and attended local schools. Violet worked in various area retail outlets for many years. She was a 4-H leader for many years and was a member of the Probation and Parole Board. She enjoyed Crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking. Her main passion was her family especially her grandchildren. Violet is survived by her children Denise Hall (Michael) of Sunderland, Debra Horton (Chris) of Rutland, Donna Keys (Jack) of Manchester, Deanna Wilinbaker (Edward) of Vergennes, VT, Timothy Putnam of Sunderland, Dawn Steere (Corey) of Arlington and Terry Putnam of Sunderland, brothers William Reed, Jr, and Gerald Reed, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Putnam and siblings Linda Baker and Justin Reed. A celebration of life for Violet will be held Friday May 15, 2026 at 2pm at the American Legion in Arlington. There are no visiting hours
