Stewart’s greatest passion was his family that he loved and cherished. He loved hunting, fishing, animals, and sports. Primarily baseball but more recently women's lacrosse. He loved watching his granddaughter play in high school and on her college team.
If not with his family you would find him plowing, mowing, on his tractor, or doing something outdoors. He was a builder for a number of years before moving to property services for Chalet Apartments and Birch Hill until 2023. He was a longtime member of the Stratton Mountain Volunteer Fire Company serving as Chief and Assistant Chief for many years as well as several terms on the town Selectboard and Planning Commission.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and kind heart.
He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held in late spring.
