Shirley Madeline Rockwell

Shirley M. Rockwell 89 of Peru, VT passed away peacefully on Oct.23, 2026 at The Gill Old Fellows Home in Ludlow VT. Shirley was born on May 11, 1937, (Shirley M. Tarbell) in Bellows Falls, VT to Sidney Tarbell and Nellie Kinney. Shirley married Volney (Peewee) Rockwell on March 12, 1954. Together they had 4 children: Deborah Gotshall, Richard (Dickie) Rockwell (deceased), Dennis Rockwell and Cindy Rockwell. Shirley worked for many years at Bromley Mountain Ski Area in food services and later worked in the home of Joe and Christine Miles of Manchester VT until she retired. Shirley is survived by her daughter Deborah Gotshall (Richard) of Londonderry, VT son Dennis Rockwell of Peru, VT and daughter Cindy Rockwell of Manchester, VT one brother John Tarbell of Springfield VT. and a special sister in-law Sandi Tarbell of Springfield VT. Shirley is also survived by 6 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Peewee in 2018, her son Richard in 2008 and her granddaughter Brandy in 2022, her brothers Walt Tarbell, Herbert Tarbell, Frank Tarbell and Roderick Tarbell and her sister Stella Penn, all from Springfield VT. Per Shirley's request there will be no services.
