Shawn David Towsley

Shawn D. Towsley, 57, a resident of Danby, VT, passed away January 28, 2026 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Shawn was born in Malone, NY on May 10, 1968. He was the son of Jeanne Helms and John Towsley and attended local schools. Shawn worked for the DPW in Manchester, VT for 27 years and was also a member of the Danby Volunteer Fire Department and the Northshire Rescue Squad. Shawn enjoyed fishing and in his earlier years, was an avid hunter. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, listening to 80’s heavy metal music, and had the itch to travel. His passion was being a dad and a grandfather, and he cherished the time spent with his family. Shawn is survived by his wife Jennie M. (Mason) Towsley of Danby, children, David Towsley (Jeniffer) of Jacksonville, NC, and Angelica Towsley (Gabriele Worsham) of Danby, his mother Jeannie Whipple and father John Towsley (Emily), his siblings Shannon Russel (Jeffery), Billy-Joe Towsley and Joseph Towsley, and his grandchildren Christopher, Julian and Logan. A celebration of life for Shawn will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 1-3 pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center, VT, with a gathering to follow at the Danby-Mt. Tabor Fire House.
