Bob passed away peacefully in Rutland Tuesday afternoon February 3, 2026 with his wife of 59 years Maureen at his side.
He is survived by his stepsons Kevin Maher and wife Mary and John Maher and wife Tamra, 7 grandchildren Catherine, Kevin Jr, Rosie, Maximillian, Cody, Jared, and Isabel and 5 great-grandchildren Quinn, Riley, Maeve, Augustine and Juniper. Bob was preceded in death by his father Carl Brandt Jr and his mother Maude “Molly” nee Drumm.
Born in Larchmont NY on August 8, 1940, a graduate of Larchmont High School and Hamilton College class of 1962, Bob had a successful career as an advertising executive, originally with Ted Bates where he met his wife Maureen, and later with Carrafiello Diehl in Tarrytown NY. After retiring and moving to Weston Bob became an active member in the community.
To quote a neighbor and friend: “Since the day he and Maureen arrived in Weston and rolled up their sleeves, things got done around here, there was very little Bob wouldn’t volunteer for. And no roll or task he took on that wasn’t the better for his attention.”
Known throughout the community as a generous friend and supporter of the community in many aspects, most notably: Trustee of the Weston Community Association, Past President of the Weston Historical Society, the Old Parish Church, Chair of the Weston Antiques Show and on the Board of Friends of the West River Trail. Bob will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. His spirit and dedication to his beloved Weston is unmatched.
A celebration of Life will be held on March 7th at 11:00am, Old Parish Church Weston VT.
