Richard A. Hawks

Richard A. Hawks, 83, a resident of Shaftsbury Hollow Road, passed away May 3, 2026 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation. Richard was born in Troy, NY at Samaritan hospital on November 2, 1942 the son of the late George Hawks and Clara Hoover and attended local schools. Richard worked for Energizer and then for 25 years he worked as a painting contractor. Richard liked being outdoors in the heat, mowing his lawn, old cars and going to car shows. He enjoyed listening to old country music, his favorite song was Black Velvet and cherished times spent with his family. Richard is survived by his children Brian Hawks of Hoosick Falls, NY, Maxine Brandalik of White Creek and Billy Bartalotta of Hoosick Falls, NY, siblings Billy Hawks (Janet), Joyce Hawks and Sharon Stryker (John) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Hawks (Reynolds). At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services.
