Philip R. Harrington, 82, of Lye Brook Road passed away on July 29 in Bennington . Born at home in Arlington on December 21, 1938 , he was the son of Richard and Bernice (Sharkey) Harrington. Phil had worked as a sawyer at Bear Paw Lumber and Wilcox Sawmill, his last job was at the Manchester Discount Beverage. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing, he also liked to play Bingo, dancing, bowling, spending time with his friends and family and watching wrestling on television. He leaves his wife Louise (Hewes) Harrington, son Philip Harrington of Palm Beach, FL, daughter Anne Harrington of Manchester, VT, grandchildren Karen Harrington of Sunderland, Nicole Pogue of Rutland, Michael Burdick of Bennington and Ryan Burdick of Bennington and Melanie Harrington of Palm Beach, FL, great granddaughter River Lane of Sunderland, his sister Avis Archibald (Charlie) of Hoosick Falls, NY, his in laws- Lee Hewes (Brenda), Lila Shamaly (Tom), Edna Hewes, Carol and Ben Ploski-both deceased, Clifford (Edward Stubby) Hewes (Jane), Nancy Mannheim, Clifford Hewes Jr., Mary Taft (Sheldon-deceased), Janice Hewes, Charlie Hewes, Jimmy Hewes (Susan), John Louis (Maggie), George Hewes, Beverly Hewes, Donna Hewes , nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Duane Harrington, Robert Harrington and Richard Harrington. A Celebration of life for Phil will be held September 18th from 1-5 at the Rod and Gun Club in Manchester Center, VT. Please bring a dish and a story to share.
