Olivia Rose Slade, born December 10, 1979, peacefully passed away in her sleep on July 2, 2026.
Olivia was often referred to as a beautiful girl with a smile that could light up a room. She found happiness in the world around her whether it be sparkling vampires, birds out the window, mobiles spinning in the breeze, or family and friends stopping by to say hi.
Besides a deep hatred of cats, Olivia's real secret was that she was, for the most part, a dynamite listener. Over the years she heard secrets, scandals, ponderings, adventurous tales, happy happenings, and family news, and for someone who could not talk, she instantly made whomever was talking to her feel better by looking you in the eye and giving you a smile. Her ability to connect with the people around her transcended her disability. Now she wasn't a saint, if your tale had you stubbing a toe she would laugh uncontrollably at your misfortune, but the smile was there nonetheless.
Olivia may have lived a relatively quiet life, but she made an impact on the lives of everyone she met along the way. She laughed, she loved, and she found hilarity in your occasional physical pain. It was impossible to not love Olivia.
Nothing is truly ours - Janab Rasheed Rahi
What remains are the hearts we touched,
The smiles we created,
And the kindness we shared.
The world is temporary, man is mortal.
So choose love over hate,
Be the reason someone smiles,
And spread happiness and peace all over.
What you leave behind is not your wealth,
But the love you gave,
And the lives you touched.
There will be a celebration of Olivia's life on August 9, 2026 starting at noon at Olivia's parents house. All who knew Olivia are welcome to attend. If you are so inclined, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a local organization of your choice that supports people with disabilities.
