Marie H Davies

Beloved wife, devoted mother, and friend to many. Marie was born in New Hampshire, raised in New Jersey, and moved to Vermont in 1983. She was a skilled and dedicated secretary in paid and volunteer positions, always paying attention to detail. A devoted member of the Federated Church of East Arlington, she was active in many capacities.

In her 90’s she lived an independent life, sharing time with family, friends, and neighbors. She tended to her beautiful perennial garden, watched the Bluebirds and Wrens nesting in her yard, read voraciously, and played Goulash with dear friends. Many hours were spent in her quilt room where she produced colorful and creative quilts. Looking out the window of her home at the ever-changing beauty of the Vermont mountains, she would state her gratitude for each day.

Marie and her husband John were married for 66 happy years. Private celebrations of her life will be held in the future. Donations in her memory may be made to: Bennington County Habitat for Humanity or Arlington Rescue Squad. She is survived by her son Jim, daughter Jill and her wife Martie, brother Irv and his wife Joan, niece Jennifer, and nephews Peter, Todd, Ross, Glenn, and Scott. Many will miss her and hold her generous spirit in their memories.
