November 18, 1962 — May 5, 2021

Kathryn S. Canon, 58, of Arlington, VT, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 unexpectedly at her home. Kathy was born in Tupper Lake, NY on November 18, 1962, as the daughter of the late Alfred and Nettie Walton Canon. Her family lived in the village of Tahawus, when she was born, moving shortly thereafter to the town of Newcomb, NY, "The Heart of the Adirondacks". Kathy was very fond of her roots. She left the Adirondacks and started a family but was never too far away for very long. She loved to visit and enjoy the memories. Kathy was very outgoing and was up for anything that sounded like an adventure. While raising her family, she also worked to get an Associates Degree at Adirondack Community College, in Nursing. Kathy worked as a Registered Nurse and for over the past 26 years at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, VT meeting lots of friends along the way. Kathy enjoyed camping and travelling, especially to Hampton Beach. She loved attending cook-offs, casinos and wherever the road may lead even if it meant trouble, with her best friend Donna. She loved motorcycles, Jeeps and Halloween. She would not hesitate to help anyone that she thought needed it. Her passion in life was spending time with her family especially her 11 grandchildren. There was never a bigger smile on her face than when everyone was around. MOM is survived by her 4 boys, Anthony Johnson of Sandgate, VT, Steven Johnson and his wife Angela of West Rupert, VT, Shawn Johnson and his wife Laura of Shushan, NY and Forest Johnson and his wife Jessica of Granville, NY, her sister Annie Canon of Rochester, NY and her grandchildren Aaron, Cole, Nevaeh, Maddox, Ekko, Raegan, Hudson, Hunter, Cahill, Maxwell and Logan. Kathy had many Nieces and Nephews that she enjoyed very much. She was predeceased by four brothers George, William, Dwight and Alfred. Overall Kathy loved life and wanted everyone to do the same.
