Geraldine A. Christensen, 88, a resident of Greenway Drive in Vernon, passed away September 8, 2018 at Vernon Green Nursing Home. Geraldine was born in Wilmington, VT on March 21, 1930 the daughter of the late Charles and Marquerite (Smith) Dunn. She received her education in Wilmington schools, graduating from Wilmington High School. Geraldine worked as a waitress at the Skyline Restaurant for over 40 years. She was a member and very active for 68 years with the Cecil E. Davis American Legion Auxiliary Post 17, Jacksonville, VT. She enjoyed photography attending flea markets, yard sales and collecting dolls. She enjoyed traveling and traveled to every state across America including Alaska three times. She traveled to Branson Missouri to enjoy listening to country music. Geraldine liked to make crafts, was awarded the Wilmington Citizen of the Year and was involved with the Fresh Air Program. Geraldine is survived by her children Randall "Dooley" Boyd and his partner Galey of Wilmington, Lynn Davis and her husband Alan of Wilmington and Pamela Parris and her husband Clark of Halifax, grandchildren Leonard Duff Boyd, III and Kimberly Laird and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband Leonard Boyd whom she married July 16, 1949 and her second husband Karl Christensen whom she married February 14, 1990, son Leonard Duff Boyd, Jr., grandson Eric Davis, grand daughter Crystal Wendell, brother Charlie Dunn and sisters Joanne Brown and Bobbie Lavoy and her daughter-in-law Teresa Boyd. A celebration of life will be held Friday evening September 14, 2018 from 5-7pm at Covey-Allen &Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. Interment will be private. If friends desire memorial gifts in Geraldine's memory may be made to the Cecil E. Davis American Legion Post 17 Jacksonville, VT, c/o Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 215 Wilmington, VT. A celebration of life will be held Friday evening September 14, 2018 from 5-7pm at Covey-Allen &Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. Interment will be private.
