Frieda Kaffka

Frieda Kaffka, 97, of Whitingham, VT passed away at home on August 22, 2025. Born May 18, 1928, in Queens, NY, Frieda dedicated her life to her husband of 62 years, Warren and her 3 children and one grandson.

After graduating from Richmond Hill High School in 1946, Frieda held various secretarial jobs in New York City and Hicksville, NY from 1946 to 1955. Frieda married Warren on Dec 15, 1951. After relocating to Connecticut in 1960, Frieda and Warren built their family home in 1962, designed by Warren, on High Ridge Ave in Ridgefield, CT.

Frieda worked at both East Ridge Jr. High School and Ridgefield High School from 1972 thru 1983 as a secretary. She was an active member of Jesse Lee Church, Charles Pope Choristers, and the Ridgefield Workshop for Performing Arts, to name a few. In 2006, Frieda and Warren built a log home in Whitingham and retired there for the remainder of their lives.

Frieda is survived by her daughter Susan, sons James R. and John and grandson James M. and his wife Stacey. She is predeceased by her husband Warren.

The family will hold a private celebration at a later date.
