Everett (Bob) Hildreth, Jr.

Everett Monroe Bob Hildreth, Jr, 87, a resident of Rist Road, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 17, 2017 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Bob was born in Williamsville, VT on March 27, 1930 the son of Everett M. Hildreth, Sr. and Mary Smith. He attended Wilmington schools, graduating from Wilmington High School, class of 1949. Upon discharge from the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict, Bob worked at G.S. Precision in 1966, first in Wilmington then Brattleboro. He retired in 1995 but stayed on part time for G.S. Precision. In his earlier years Bob worked at the Hermitage, New England Box Company and Pratt &Whitney in Hartford, CT. Bob was an avid bowler for over 30 years and enjoyed watching football and baseball. He traveled across country in 1997 with his wife Ada, was an avid reader of country westerns and cherished times spent with his family. Bob is survived by his daughters Robin Lollar (John) of Ruffin, SC, Karen LaBonte (Bill) of Grand Isle, VT and Susan Courchesne ( Roger) of Wilmington, and grandchildren Lacey (Anthony), Haley (Chris), Jordan, Patrick, Ryan, Christopher, Jeremy, Kirra and Tayler. He was preceded in death by his wife Ada whom he married July 27, 1958 at the Wilmington Congregational Church. Mrs. Hildreth passed away June 19, 1998. Funeral services for Bob will be held Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 1pm at Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, VT. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
