Elizabeth Ann Abbott

Elizabeth Ann Abbott, 91, a former resident of Dorset, passed away January 20, 2021 at Equinox Terrace. She was known as Betty to her friends and Boo to her family. She was born in Wells, VT on July 14, 1929. Betty was the daughter of the late Milo and Emma McClure Johnson. In her younger years, she and her husband Pete, owned and operated the Westview Inn in Dorset. Later on in life she worked as a sales clerk for the Peltier Store also in Dorset. She enjoyed reading and meeting new people. She was active in the Dorset Church and other local senior groups. Betty was an avid gardener and cherished times spent with her family. She is survived by her children Peter Abbott of Albany, NY, Richard Abbott (Joyce) of Salisbury, Maryland and Peg Lyon (Jim) of New Milford, CT, sister Patricia Jones of Proctor, VT, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband Willis G. Abbott and son James M. Abbott. A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held at a later date in Dorset.
