On the morning of March 24th, surrounded by her loving family, BettyAnn went home to be with her loving husband Tim.
BettyAnn was born on December 8th, 1947 in Biddeford Maine. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude Nichols and Louis Ouellette. BettyAnn was one of seven children. She attended Burr and Burton Seminary where she met her husband of 50 years, Timothy H. Sheldon.
BettyAnn was an avid outdoors woman. Each November she could be found in the woods with her family on the hunt for the big bucks roaming the mountain side behind her house. In the spring she could be found by a lake or river fishing with her grandkids in search of the most beautiful trout. But what she cherished most of all was the time she spent doing just about anything with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan, but only the sports that were being played or coached by her grandkids and her children. On many fall days the community would find her sitting on the sidelines of the local football teams and mountain bike teams and soccer teams, in the winter you would find her in the bleachers cheering on the wrestlers, basketball players, and ice hockey players, and in the spring she was found on the sidelines of a lacrosse game and cheering on the local high school softball and baseball teams.
If you ever met BettyAnn you knew who her family was. If you saw her and said hello you better pull up a chair because you were going to hear all about what her grandsons were doing or how her children had accomplished something new and you just had to have a look at the pictures on her cellphone. And if you ever had the pleasure of pulling into her yard, you were going to be greeted by her on the little porch, it didn’t matter who you were or who you came to see.
BettyAnn is survived by her children and those she considered her children, her son Timothy H. Sheldon II and wife Fawn Sheldon of Dorset Vt., her daughter Nancy Sheldon and fiance Ashley Maki of Arlington Vt., and her son Kevin Bell and wife Jana Bell of Davis Ca. BettyAnn was blessed with eight grandsons, Cooper Sheldon, Spencer Sheldon, and Sawyer Sheldon (Tim and Fawn), Kamden Sheldon and Grayson Sheldon (Nancy), and Ryan Bell, Andrew Bell, and Matthew Bell (Kevin and Jana). Although she did not have any biological granddaughters there were many that she considered to be hers as well. BettyAnn is also survived by her Brother Jack Bowen of Sunderland, Vt. her sister Joan Hazelton (Steve) of Dorset, Vt., sister Susan Houle of Lewiston ME, and brother Dan Ouellette (Judi) of Bennington Vt., as well as many cherished nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Timothy H. Sheldon and her sisters Jean Stannard of Dorset Vt and Sandra Zografos of Westbrook ME.
