    Emma Kilburn Ameden

Emma Kilburn Ameden (Grammy-O), 89 of Londonderry, VT, died on February 21, 2010 at her home peacefully in her sleep.She was born in Manchester, VT on May 2, 1920, daughter of James R. and Mary Cadoret Kilburn. She graduated from Burr and Burton Seminary in 1938. On their wedding day, she and her late husband Eugene L. Ameden moved to Londonderry and farmed for over 30 years.Mrs. Ameden is survived by three sons, James and his wife Josie of Landgrove, VT; Kenneth and his wife Linda of Londonderry, VT; Norman and his wife Lena of Saint Cloud, FL; and her daughter Jane Crespo and her husband Wayne of Winchendon, MA; a brother Noel J. Kilburn and his wife Jong of Fairfield, CA; and dear friend Liza Amaden. She is also survived by 8 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband and one granddaughter.Her family and friends have been so blessed to have had her as an example and guide.She never traveled far from home but she touched lives far and wide with her love and prayers.She was a very faithful member of the Second Congregational Church of Londonderry, VT, a long-time volunteer at Thrifty Attic, a Hospice visitor, former Grange member, and a Londonderry School Board Member when Flood Brook School was planned and built.She is best known for her blond brownies, her mending and patching, and her wild birds.A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 26 at 11:00 AM at the Second Congregational Church in Londonderry, VT with a reception following in the Fellowship Hall.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Second Congregational Church, Mountain Valley Medical Clinic, or a charity of your choice c/o Brewster Funeral Service PO Box 885 Manchester, VT 05255.
