Douglas C. Prouty, 56 of S. Londonderry, VT, passed away Wednesday February 10, 2010 at his home. He was born in Townshend, VT on October 18, 1953, the son of Clyde and Clara (Kuusela) Prouty. He was a graduate of Leland and Gray High School in Townshend.Doug was a heavy equipment operator with the family business,Clyde Prouty and Sons. He was an avid deer hunter and,in his earlier years,was a huge fan and participant of demolition derby’s.He is survived by his wife; Cathy Prouty of N. Windham, VT, his son, Christopher Prouty (Melissa) of Chester, VT, a daughter; Stacy Prouty (John) of Seymour, CT, his parents; Clyde and Clara Prouty of Londonderry, VT, a brother; Steve Prouty of Londonderry, VT, his sister; Susan VanAlstyne (Peter Sr.) of S. Londonderry, VT, a step-son; Gary Clay (Jessica) of Windham, VT, a step-daughter; Billie Jean VanAlstyne (Peter Jr.) of Windham, VT and his grandchildren; Madison, Dakotah, Nathaniel, Anna, Corryn, Crystal, Becca, Levi, Abagale and Erika. He was predeceased by his brother Gary Prouty.A Memorial Service will be held on Monday February 15, 2010 at 11:00 am at the S. Londonderry Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Londonderry. There are no calling hours.
