when the family will be in attendance.
Burial will take place in Crosier Cemetery in
Searsburg, VT in the spring.

    Dorothy Cecile Slater

Dorothy Cecile Slater, 90 of Bennington, passed away Sunday February 7, 2010 at the Centers for Living and rehabilitation in Bennington. Dorothy was born in Rowe, MA. on September 3, 1919, the daughter of Osmond and Clara (Clement) Day. She attended schools in Earlville, NY and was a 1938 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School. She attended Onondaga Business School in Syracuse, NY and Southern Vermont College and Community College of Vermont in Bennington. As a young woman, Dorothy studied at Alveine Theatrical School in New York and had also been a Powers model During WWII Dorothy worked for the US Navy at the Puget Sound Navy Yard in Bremerton, WA. In earlier years she worked at the former F.W. Woolworth and M.H. Fishman stores on Main Street in Bennington. She retired from the Town Bennington Recreation Department as a receptionist several years ago. Dorothy is survived by a daughter; Adeline McGuire, her grandchildren; Patricia McGuire, David McGuire and Tammy McGuire and her cousin Beatrice Morse. She was predeceased by her brother, John Day and a sister, Laura Johnson. Friends may call at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 W.
