Bereavement Support Resources..
The articles and bereavement support information have been provided by VNA & Hospice of SVHC.
Available Support
Many individuals find comfort in listening to and learning from their peers. Support is especially helpful when grieving the death of a loved one. Throughout each year VNA & Hospice offers grief support groups. Groups are divided into three age categories; adults, teens and children. Groups are open to the entire community, and do not discriminate toward any type of loss. Each group takes place over six to eight consecutive weeks and is closed to new participants upon the initial start date and is facilitated by a VNA & Hospice staff member.
Adult groups are offered four times a year. Our work together will provide participants with the support needed and freedom from the isolation a loss can bring.
Teen groups are available twice a year. The use of art and photography are incorporated into the group as a concrete and creative method of expressing grief through healing.
Our kids group is also offered at least twice a year. Children ages 5-12 are encouraged to play and create art while applying the basic principles of grief and exploration of feelings associated with morning.
An on-going list of individuals interested in attending a grief support group is kept on file in the office, you can be added to any of these lists by calling Mary Pleasant at (802)442-5502.
